That's because those treatments are designed to target the tumors in order to help patients achieve remission. But as good as those therapies can be at shrinking tumors, none of them provide a solution for preventing cancer from coming back after treatment. That's because they fail to treat the "root cause" of cancer recurrence and treatment failure. That root cause is known as cancer stem cells.

Cancer stem cells are what cause the metastatic spread of cancer and cancer to reoccur even after successful treatment. And unfortunately, unlike tumor cells, they cannot be killed with chemo, radiation, surgery, immunotherapy, hormone blockers, or targeted therapies. In fact, it's now known that the damage from chemo and radiation can potentially create new cancer stem cells, thereby causing secondary cancers years later.
